Where field-crew IT breaks

Electrical contractors in Surrey and the Lower Mainland often run the company on whatever device is closest. These are the gaps we see before a managed plan is in place.

Personal devices

Quotes, job photos, and drawings sit on a personal phone or a laptop someone owns. When that person is on another site, the office cannot get the file.

No backup

There is no copy of the job files if a laptop is lost, a drive fails, or a phone is dropped on site.

Job-site file access

The office has the folder. The crew on a Surrey or Lower Mainland job site has no secure way to open it.

Break/fix IT

Someone gets called after email, a laptop, or the shop network is already down. Nothing is watched between those calls.

What we put in place

The assessment looks at the devices, the backup, and how the crew reaches files from a job site. A plan then covers the ongoing work.

A help desk the crew can call

Office staff and field leads have a named contact during business hours. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm. Saturday, 7am to 2pm. Sunday closed.

Backup for the job files

Professional and Premium include cloud backup. Essential does not. The assessment says which one fits the crew.

Access from the job site

Authorized people can reach the files they need from site without leaving the office server open to the internet.

Monitoring and patching

Systems are watched and updated between calls, so support is not only a visit after something has already failed.

Why local and on-site matters

Field trades in Surrey and the Lower Mainland split the day between the shop, the truck, and the job site. The IT has to work in all three places.

Surrey and the Lower Mainland

We work with electrical and field contractors here. Meetings are remote or at your site.

On-site when the shop needs it

Professional and Premium include on-site support. Essential stays on remote help desk during business hours.

The same company stays on the account

Ongoing managed IT keeps the help desk, patching, and monitoring with the people who know how the crew is set up.

Managed IT case study

Able Electrical LTD

The crew had files on personal devices, no backup, and no secure way to reach the office from a job site. We deployed on-site TrueNAS and MinIO storage, Tailscale for job-site access, and Microsoft 365 with Intune. Ongoing support covers the help desk, patching, and monitoring. That case study also covers Virsa running on their own server.
